Kent and I are working really hard to get our home theater finished. The projector we bought off ebay came last week! I tested it out and it works great... we will soon be able to watch movies that are literally as big as the wall!
It is taking a lot of work to finish the room though. While Kent was gone I took down all the wall paper. Three of the walls just had wall paper above the chair rail height, so they did not take as long. Now that we have all the wall paper down, we are busy patching holes. The wall we will be projecting our movies on had five miscellanous outlets above 2 feet above the floor. These were really going to get in the way of the movie watching experience, so we had to take them out. We left the electrical outlet, but patched the ones with random wires. (one had coaxial cable coming out and going back into the wall) kent did a really great job putting up drywall patches last night. Penny and I watched.
Now we just have to make sure all the little nail holes in the walls are patched and then we will be ready to paint! We are hoping the get everything finished by the end of the week!

Beautiful Flowers and the Houston Skyline

Our first real post...
Today I woke up to Penny insisting she go outside. Of course it was raining and she changed her mind. After being upset that she got me downstairs so early in the morning, I was delighted when I saw that our plants are in full bloom.
I have no idea what kind of plant this is, but the flowers are amazing. We have a total of six of these plants and they are all blooming, with either pink or yellow flowers!
The pods the blooms come out of look a little crazy, and the flower only survives a few days. I hope they stay in bloom long enough for Kent to see!

A few weeks ago Kent and I went downtown to check out an old pick up truck for Neil. The place we went was pretty trashy (it literally smelled like trash), but the view of Houston was breath taking.
It is such a huge city!
There is usually way more traffic than in this picture!

Okay, I just had to share our pretty flowers with everyone. I should be finished with some projects soon (hopefully tomorrow!) and will post pictures!

So, I figured now that Kent and I are away from home we should have an easy way to keep everyone updated on what we are doing.
I will try to update to blog as often as I can with news and pictures of all our remodeling projects!
